In March 2020, I met with a realtor to finalize the terms of the lease proposal for a space on Halsey St. that would become the headquarters for LivFit Fitness. Then, boom- COVID-19! I lost my job at a corporate gym in New York City and nearly all of my private clients fled New York to other states or countries. Naturally, it forced me to pivot. Later, I had a conversation within myself on whether I should still move forward with my vision to launch LivFit Fitness. Although, I’m not from Newark – my experiences working in Newark at Horizon Blue Cross & Blue Shield of New Jersey is where my own fitness journey began. For me, it was more than just starting a new business--it was my passion for the past 20 years to be a trainer to help people in my community and an opportunity to impact lives in a healthy and meaningful way.
